Monday Preview
The doubles match on Monday in the Germany-France and United
States-Australia ties will decide the final outcome of opening group
action.
On Centre Court 1, Germany and France will battle it out in doubles and in the following match, Tomas Berdych of the Czech Republic takes a 2-1 career advantage against Nicolas Almagro of Spain. Berdych has a 9-4 career mark in Duesseldorf and he’s appearing here for the fifth time. Jan Hajek of the Czech Republic gave his country a 1-0 lead on Sunday.
In the third match on, the doubles match between the U.S. and Australia will decide the final outcome after both countries split two singles matches on Sunday.
On Centre Court 2, Argentina’s Juan Monaco will try to wrap up the Blue Group tie as he takes on Serbia’s Viktor Troicki, who won both previous hard court meetings last year.
On Sunday, Horacio Zeballos gave Argentina a 1-0 lead with a win over teenager Filip Krajinovic. There will be two doubles matches to follow as Argentina-Serbia and Czech Republic-Spain battle it out. (atp)
