Fair Play Trophy awarded to two players
Soderling and Kohlschreiber
For the first time two players have been elected for the
traditional Fair Play Trophy, awarded since 1988 on the
occasion of the ATP World Team Championship at the Duesseldorf
Rochusclub, during the 2011 POWER HORSE WORLD TEAM CUP. The
eight team captains and the international tennis journalists
elected Sweden’s Robin Soderling, 26, and Germany’s Philipp
Kohlschreiber, 27, for their exemplary behaviour on and off
the court. Soderling and Kohlschreiber share the 24th
award of the valuable Challenge Cup. Australia’s 2002
Wimbledon champion Lleyton Hewitt was the last recipient in
2010.
The Trophy was awarded by Tournament Director Dietloff von Arnim and Thomas Koenigsbauer, CEO of the new title sponsor Power Horse, after the first singles on Center Court I.
